What are the responsibilities and job description for the Groundskeeper (Golf Maintenance) position at Olympic Club?
The Olympic Club, a premier athletic and country club in San Francisco, is seeking a detail oriented, self motivated Groundskeeper to maintain our world renowned golf courses!
This is a full-time, Local 1877 Union non-exempt position. Reports to the Golf Course Superintendent.
The Olympic Club offers free golf and tennis on Mondays at our Lakeside campus and a variety of sport and social events for employees throughout the year.
Groundskeeper assists the golf maintenance staff with the maintenance and improvement of the golf courses and facilities under the control of the golf maintenance department.
Position Overview:
Maintenance of all landscaped areas of the golf courses including all greens, tees, approaches, roughs, fairways, bunkers, cart paths, irrigation system, trees, etc. Mow using walking, riding or rotary mower. Rake and maintain bunkers. Course setup/maintenance includes setting pins, tees and rolling greens & filling divots. Maintain ornamental landscaped beds, pull weeds, clean-up debris, clear cart paths, and trim grasses around sprinkler heads and base of trees.
Requirements:
- Previous landscaping and/or gardening experience required
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to move heavy objects
- Must have basic verbal English communication skills
- Must have a valid California Driver's license; clean motor vehicle report
- Be a team player and have a can do attitude
- Ability to learn how to operate power equipment, including motorized mowing equipment
- Ability to report for early morning shifts beginning at 5:30 am
- Prior golf maintenance experience preferred
