Role Summary

The Senior Vice President of Distribution Centers and Operations (SVPDO) is a pivotal executive role at OmniCable, responsible for optimizing distribution and operations across North America. This role focuses on enhancing productivity, improving operational efficiencies, and ensuring effective warehouse management. The SVPDO will drive labor efficiencies, manage logistics, and ensure seamless distribution center operations, measured by key performance indicators (KPIs). Reporting directly to the CEO, the SVPDO is a vital member of the OmniCable Executive Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to grow OmniCable, embracing Core Values and Mission.
• Provide strategic direction for distribution and operations, including warehousing, safety, quality management, real estate, facility management, distribution systems, transportation, and continuous improvement.
• Improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction through effective distribution and operations strategies.
• Oversee inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and delivery processes.
• Manage operations processes and systems, including real estate, facilities, safety, and quality.
• Collaborate with the Executive Team to align distribution and operations plans with business goals.
• Lead operational excellence strategy development and execution across the network.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and manage a team of distribution and operations professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Develop and manage the distribution and operations budget, ensuring cost-effective resource use.
• Lead and execute the capital budgeting process.
  
  

Qualifications

Work Experience

• Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in distribution and operations roles, with a proven track record of improving operational efficiencies and minimizing costs in a comparable senior role.
• Experience leading multi-site, complex operational networks through various business cycles.
• Expertise in change management and continuous improvement across large organizations.
• Experience with IT systems (ERP, WMS, TMS) including major upgrades, migrations, and implementations.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
• Deep understanding of logistics, warehousing, and inventory management principles.
• Preferred:
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven success in a similar role within a company generating over $1B in annual revenue.
• Experience with process improvement initiatives and managing global distribution operations.
• Experience in the redistribution or distribution industry.
