Responsible for pre-treatment services and delivery of radiologic treatment.Job Responsibilities:--Treatment of patients:-Arrange treatment appointments.-Deliver radiation to patients in accordance with physician’s instructions.-Operate all types of radiotherapy equipment, i.e., Cobalt Therapy Unit, Linear Accelerator, Simulator, etc.--Pre-Treatment Preparation:-Operate simulator for localization of tumor size and position.-Takes contours and collects all physical factors for treatment plans.-Perform dosimetry for treatment plans.-Take photographs of patients for portal verifications, etc.--Patient Care Activities:-Recognize all types of radiation reactions and provides proper care and instructions to patients.-Educate patients with respect to radiation therapy reactions and also lifestyle modifications.-Instruct incoming Residents and technologists in the use of equipment.-Prepare Cerrobend alloy blocks.-Fabricate plastic holders for blocks.-Construct and fabricate patient immobilization devices.-Take and develop radiographs.-Maintain patient management room neat and orderly.-Coordinate department with inpatient activities to provide proper patient care.-When necessary, transports inpatients.-Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.-Perform other related duties as assigned.Required Skills & Experience:-Knowledge of radiologic equipment in use at BHMC Good patient interpersonal skills.-Ability to read and speak English Ability to fully utilize BHMC’s electronic record systems, equipment, and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.-Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.-Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing or exerting force up to 75 pounds.Preferred Skills & Experience:-Six (6) months to one (1) year of x-ray or radiologic experience.Required Education:-High School diploma or equivalent.-Graduate of accredited radiologic program.Required Certifications & Licensure:-Certification in the operation of Radiologic equipment and treatment.RightSourcing (a part of Magnit) expected pay package may vary and/or include certain benefits like: Stipends (for clinical traveler workers only), Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K
