Oneida Health is currently seeking a full-time Ward Clerk to work night shift (5P– 5A). This position will perform various routine clerical duties and related work as directed by the charge nurse. The ideal candidate for this position has the ability to work independently and provides a positive patient and customer experience. The Ward Clerk must possess strong and courteous communication skills.

What You’ll be Great At:
- Demonstrating skill in computer operations including census changes and electronic data entry.
- Preparing patient charts for admission, transfers, and discharges; maintaining an accurate log of such events.
- Promoting and maintaining overall cleanliness of the unit including the nurses’ station.
- Securing and transferring medication to and from the hospital pharmacy safely; other inter-department messenger duties as needed.
- Replenishing stock items and ordering office supplies when necessary.
- Maintaining entire patient medical records on a shift to shift basis; including assembling, labeling, thinning, rearranging, and adding additional sheets/reports as needed.
- Recognizing emergent patient care situations and immediately reporting discoveries to the first available professional.
- Assisting with response to call lights and communicating patient needs or concerns to nursing staff in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Your Essential Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Experience:
- Clerical: 1 year (Required)
- Medical Secretary: 1 year (Preferred)
Salary : $17 - $21
