Centroid, Inc. is a defense electronics manufacturer with a 60-year history of solving some of the military’s most difficult engineering and sourcing challenges.
Our team is looking for a Sourcing Specialist to join them. You will report to the Centroid Purchasing Supervisor and will have an onsite work structure in Plainview, NY.
To be considered for the Sourcing Specialist opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or other technical discipline
- 2 years’ experience in supply chain and/or a manufacturing environment
- 1 years' experience of reading and interpreting technical drawings
As a Sourcing Specialist, you will:
- Analyze technical data packages for various commodities to determine qualified sources of supply to solicit.
- Lead the effort to operationalize a comprehensive process for sourcing, specification changes, manufacturing process changes, pricing, and contract negotiations.
- Develop and maintain new and existing supplier relationships in support of strategic objectives.
- Visit and assess suppliers.
- Ensure accurate reporting of sourcing key performance measures (savings, preferred supplier adherence, small business / minority owned, etc.) for the site. Provides monthly status updates on completed, in process and scheduled activities with associated financials.
- Ensure engagement and management of sourcing changes with cross functional teams by understanding their business needs and how it can be fulfilled from the marketplace, as well as, providing accountability for their alignment.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality and Operations key stakeholders to resolve material issues and ensure on-time delivery to our customers.
- Ensure bids/proposals are properly vetted/reviewed with technical data packages.
- Review and process solicitations, technical data packages, parts list, Engineering comments and flow downs.
- Lead vendor negotiations and costing BOM to support bid and proposals.
- Drives the decision-making process & action planning for each activity driving efficiencies and cost reduction / savings opportunities.

Salary Range:
- $80,000 - $90,000/year, based on experience
This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
