What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medication Administrator position at Opportunity Enterprises, Inc.?

The medication administrator will complete daily medication passes, maintain documentation on the Medication Administration Records, and work with the pharmacy and/or other staff members to reorder necessary nursing supplies.


Responsibilities

  • Complete medication passes throughout the day
  • Inform staff that medications are ready to be picked up
  • Organize/prepare medical documentation for scanning into client files
  • Track incoming/outgoing medications
  • Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation gets completed and relayed to the appropriate staff: i.e., QIDP, manager, nurse
  • Check in weekly cycle fill medications
  • Order medication refills for Opportunity Enterprises residential participants
  • Other duties as requested by the Director of Nursing

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift or move up to 75 pounds
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Prolonged periods of sitting

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma/GED
  • Must possess either a Qualified Medication Administrator certification and/or pass Med Core as well as have related experience
  • Employee must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
