SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST

Reports to: Manager -- Software Quality and Deployment
POSITION PURPOSE:
- This position is responsible for the testing, troubleshooting, and deployment of Windows applications, web services, and web applications used in emissions testing programs and other DMV related programs, such as driver's license testing. The testing of Windows applications will also include verification of interfaces to custom hardware and COTS peripherals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop functional and non-functional tests cases to verify requirements and product functionality.
- Analyze technical requirements to ensure feasibility and validity and use them to produce test scenarios.
- Detect, report, and track software defects.
- Collaborate with development team to ensure proper functional testing and requirements of a feature of set of features are met.
- Work with software developers to troubleshoot software bugs and general support issues.
- Track software changes and improvements with developers and prepare software release documentation such as release notes and official test results.
- Participate in software deployments, including the creation of deployment scripts and processes.
- Participate in developing and maintaining quality assurance procedures in support of ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Perform other tasks and duties as required by manager.
