Position Responsibilities:
- Opening, sorting and distributing mail to the correct department or person
- Posting self-payments and processing credit card payments that are received through the mail
- Completing ORA deposits and scanning EOBs daily
- Coding non-provider encounters such as durable medical equipment (DME), casting, and x-ray department tickets
- Ensuring accurate and timely data entry of ICD10, CPT and HCPCS codes assigned to patient encounters
- Creating new accounts and appointments for patients from ORA provider hospital encounter
- Entering global surgery dates in patient accounts
- Printing surgery face sheets matching with operative reports
- Attaching documentation including consultations, operative reports, and progress notes received from surgery centers and hospitals to patient medical records
- Coordinating communication of surgical case coding to and from outside coding consultants
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
- One year of medical office experience is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
- Ability to multi-task
