Position Description
The Assistant Controller position, reporting to the Controller and other Company partners, will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, implementing and maintaining internal controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Prepare technical accounting memos, research and provide clear guidance on complex accounting standards.
- Work closely with management team for balance sheet reviews, reporting and monitor variances to budget and prior year.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Assist with process improvement and monitoring around Procure to Pay process, budgeting, reporting and transfer pricing.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing leadership, guidance, and training as needed.
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings.
- Analyze financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Support strategic decision-making by providing financial analysis, modeling, and recommendations to senior management.
- Evaluate and implement accounting software and systems enhancements to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Controller or CFO.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or advanced degree (e.g., Master of Accounting) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the renewable energy industry or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with technical accounting memos.
- Experience with project finance, complex loan structures, multiple entities, tax equity and construction accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP), financial reporting software (OneStream, Essbase) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
