We are recruiting for part-time, game night staff for the Orlando Magic, Osceola Magic, and Orlando Solar Bears. What our Part-Time hiring process is like:
While every position is different, our part-time hiring process is typically a two-step process, sometimes more depending on the nature of the role. After you apply, your resume will be reviewed by our hiring manager for that particular role.
After interviews have been conducted, candidates whom the hiring manager selected will be contacted by our Talent Acquisition team. Candidates who are not selected to move forward will be contacted via email. We would love to call 100% of the candidates, however we typically interview well over 250 candidates during this part-time hiring week, and we want to give every candidate the decision as soon as possible.
This position will be working out of the Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, FL.
A quick summary about the role:
This role will be responsible for the execution of all on-court elements and in-game activations, as well as game operations set-up and breakdown for Osceola Magic home games.
What the role will do:
- Execute all pregame and in-game elements including, but not limited to anthem performances, color guard, halftime performances, contests, and presentations.
- Collaborate with the game producer, camera crew, Emcee, Blue Crew members and performers on proper timing for in-game elements.
- Assist Blue Crew members with contestant selection, contest rules explanations, bringing props on and off the court, etc.
- Ensure props are ready and available for all in-game elements and put them back in the proper locations postgame.
- Maintain and organize the prop storage area and notify Manager(s) if things need to be repaired, cleaned, or replaced.
- Attend pre-game meeting with Magic full-time staff.
- Attend pregame production meeting.
- All other duties as assigned.
What the role needs to have:
- High School graduate or equivalent experience
- Event presentation experience preferred.
- Strong Organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
- Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong team synergy kills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
- Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to work all Magic home games plus a select number of non-Magic events. This includes the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
Physical requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand on feet for 5-6 hours per game
