General Description of Position:
The Clinic Assistant at OrthoArkansas PA plays a crucial role in ensuring a positive patient experience. This position involves welcoming patients, gathering necessary information, and supporting physicians and extenders during clinic appointments. The Clinic Assistant is essential in maintaining the clinic's efficiency and providing outstanding patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction:
- Greet and welcome patients as they enter the clinic.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, including blood pressure and medication reconciliation.
- Return patient phone calls promptly.
- Assist with scheduling tests, scheduling surgeries, notifying patients and facilities of appointments.
- Complete disability or medical forms for patients.

Clinical Support:
- Enter provider orders for physical therapy, DME, diagnostic tests, and surgeries into the EMR.
- Enter and send medication refills.
- Perform wound care and dressing changes.
- Draw injection medications and prepare injection sites.
- Clean and stock exam rooms and the nurse station with necessary supplies.

Administrative Tasks:
- Cover the triage (ER) phone line.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between patients, physicians, and other medical staff.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 0 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines.
- Previous clinic assistant experience is preferred.

Skills:
- Basic proficiency in database management, payroll systems, and word processing/typing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
