General Description of Position:
The Radiologic Technologist ensures a smooth patient flow within the department, providing excellent patient care and producing high-quality images. This role involves operating imaging equipment as ordered by physicians and following standard protocols to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Imaging and Patient Care:
- Competently perform X-ray procedures according to physician protocols.
- Provide high-quality patient care, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Assist patients in and out of wheelchairs as needed and transport them to exam rooms.
- Practice radiation safety and follow all regulatory guidelines.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate imaging equipment efficiently and accurately.
- Transfer images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging equipment and examination rooms.
- Call in service tickets for any issues with imaging equipment.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Assist Clinic Assistants and other healthcare team members as needed.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned to support the department’s smooth operation.
- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by completion of a formal radiologic technology program.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Valid state licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in operating X-ray imaging software and equipment.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in X-ray imaging software.
- Experience with EHR systems.
- Knowledge of PACS.
- Competence in communication tools and collaboration platforms.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with safety and compliance software.
