What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coord HIMS I position at OSF HealthCare?
After a 6 month introductory period with training onsite in Peoria, this position has the option of remote work from home. Must reside in IL, must be meeting department expectations, and would need to be able to travel to the office for required meetings on various occasions.
Expected pay for this position is $18.43 - $21.69/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ambulatory HIMS Department is a support group for the OSF Multi-Specialty Group. The Ambulatory Health Information Management Coordinator I enters discrete medical information and scans non-OSF medical records into the Epic Electronic Medical Record System. All Ambulatory Health Information Management Coordinators work in a team-based environment, but also work independently. Ambulatory Health Information Management Coordinators are expected to meet an average hourly production expectation and an average monthly accuracy expectation.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Other skills/knowledge: Demonstrate proficient attention to detail.
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: 1 year of work experience in healthcare.
Other skills/knowledge: Knowledge of Medical & Surgical Terminology, as well as a working knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 Coding. Knowledge of HIPAA and medical record laws.
Other requirements/information: Typing speed of 35 words per minute. Demonstrate flexibility with an ever-changing department. Demonstrate proficient organizational skills. Demonstrate proficient data entry experience, proof reading, and accuracy Demonstrate proficient critical thinking skills.
