Description
LOCATION: West High Kitchen
6:30 am to 3:00 pm
195 school year days (190 work days) 5 holidays\

1. Supervise and coordinate high school production kitchen, with kitchen supervisor.
2. Assume responsibility for the security of money. Responsible for counting drawers at end of meal services and returning deposits to the high school bank.
3. Assume responsibility for the planting, harvesting and coordination of the hydroponic gardens at the high school.
4. Estimate production needs and plan daily production schedules with kitchen supervisor
5. Assume responsibility for the high school production kitchen when kitchen supervisor is absent.
6. Fill in at area schools if needed, and as directed by food service management.
7. Supervise the storage and care of foods and supplies.
8. Supervise high school lunch service.
9. Order miscellaneous menu items as directed by kitchen supervisor.
10. Ensure accuracy of special diet meals.
11. Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of kitchen, serving, storage, and dining areas.
12. Actively participate in Wisconsin School Food Services Association and the American School Food Services Association. Attend Department of Public Food Bureau food and nutrition management development courses.
13. Prepare items for lunch daily according to menu.
14. Maintain records of production and service.
15. Inspect the kitchen, cooking and mixing utensils, and employees for cleanliness and sanitary purposes.
16. Assume responsibility for checking that all equipment in the cafeteria is in safe, working condition, and notify the appropriate authority when repairs or replacements are needed.
17. Alert food services director of food and supply needs in a timely fashion.
18. Assist in the development of menus and recipes.
19. Keep informed of latest trends, developments, and products in the area of food service.
20. Perform such other duties as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in team processes for continuous improvement.
2. Perform other responsibilities set forth in the Food Services Supervisor job description.
Qualifications
1. Associate Degree preferred, but not required.
2. Two years supervisory experience; preferably in food services.
3. Two years computer experience; knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, and database preferred.
4. Successful completion of a quantity food preparation/production technical school training program or its equivalent in knowledge and experience.
5. Three years successful experience in quantity food production.
6. Successful completion of Oshkosh Area School District Cook exam-80 percent or better.
7. Successful completion of math skills examination.
8. Able to make independent decisions in a fast paced environment.
9. Able to interact tactfully, effectively, and courteously with students, staff, and other persons encountered in the course of work.
10. Able to give clear and concise directions.
11. Such other qualifications as the Board of Education may find acceptable.
12. A passing score on the Food Service Supervisor Exam.
