What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Educational Assistant position at School District of Waupaca?
The School District of Waupaca is searching for a talented person for an Educational Assistant position at Waupaca High School for the 2025-2026 school year. The Educational Assistant works closely with pupils on a regular basis in an effort to facilitate their physical, cognitive, and emotional development in order to gain the full benefits from the District's education program. Throughout each day an Educational Assistant will:
1. Assist the student(s) to whom assigned in such physical tasks as putting on and taking off of outerwear, moving from room to room, using the lavatory, assisting at lunch, assisting with bus transfers, and so on.
2. Under the direction of the teacher assist the student(s) in recitation, reading, and other curriculum tasks, guiding and helping them, but not teaching them.
3. Under supervision of the teacher, work with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
4. Establish as fully as possible a supportive relationship with the student(s).
5. Communicate vital information regarding the students to the teacher.
6. Understand and respect the confidential nature of specific information relating to the students.
7. Assume supervisory role over the students when classroom teacher is out of the room.
8. Provide clerical assistance to teachers by photocopying, typing, laminating, etc., preparing class materials for students.
9. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities within the overall scope of the position which the supervisor may assign.
