What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at Pacific Edge?
Pacific Edge Diagnostics USA, an innovative cancer detection testing company is seeking a talented Clinical Laboratory Technician to join its team. The Clinical Laboratory Technician's primary responsibility will be to perform molecular clinical testing (from specimen receipt through reporting patient results), as well as general lab maintenance. Duties may include:
- Complete specimen processing, test performance and reporting test results
- Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Assess performance and test results, and identify problems that may adversely affect those results; correct problems as appropriate.
- Conducting general laboratory maintenance, to include: cleaning, completing safety checks, equipment monitoring, environmental testing, inventory, receiving, and reagent manufacturing.
Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor's degree in medical technology, chemical, physical, or biological sciences; at least 1 year of molecular and/or clinical experience preferred. Additionally, candidates should possess:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills-Microsoft and Adobe are required, LIMS preferred.
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent attention to detail
- Preferred experience with clinical sample processing. Regulated environment experience (CLIA, CAP, GLP, and NY-DOH).
- Preferred experience with aseptic technique, manual/kit RNA extraction, automated instruments, LIMS, Quality Control, and technical writing.
