Position Objective:
Facilities Technician is responsible for assembling machinery to support / improve manufacturing production and operations. Position includes working with production and Research & Development (R&D) to support and improve site’s reliability of production. Role provides technical support to manufacturing in order to find the root causes of problems. Performs corrective actions involving machine improvements. Requires someone with enthusiasm and energy to get results, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and most importantly the ability and willingness to learn.
Essential Job Functions:
Assembly of precision components and machinery.
Machining of parts for prototypes and production machinery.
Use of computer-assisted engineering, facilities and design software to perform assignments.
Work with R&D and Manufacturing/Facilities Engineering Product Group to fix current and transition new equipment into production.
Recommends or perform corrective actions involving machine improvements.
Actively participates and leads kaizen events.
Provide ongoing technical and maintenance support of existing equipment and processes.
Investigate, develop and test ideas to working prototype product stage.
Maintaining accurate, well organized logs during experiments and testing to be included in final test reports
Attaining results, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplined team.
Maintain a safe and tidy working area in accordance with 5S principles and company policies
General working knowledge of mechanical/machine operations.
Must be willing to work schedule, as well as any required overtime/holidays.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Bachelor’s / associate degree in an Engineering field (preferred)
Five (5) years of experience working in an engineering / production role within industrial manufacturing environment
One (2) year Experience of working in an R&D / product development environment (preferred)
Up to Five (5) years of experience of data acquisition and the reporting of results and conclusions
Familiarity with basic scripting languages such as lua or python, machining of polymers and metals, 3D printing (preferred)
Experience in the fitting, assembly, operation and troubleshooting of precision machinery (preferred).
Experience with injection molding and parts design and melt-blowing processes (preferred).

Solid interpersonal & communication skills
Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment.
Resourceful and well organized – keeping a work area clean, safe and orderly
Problem solving ability
Other Requirements:
Ability to lift 50 pounds intermittently,
Ability to stand at machines during entire shift
Ability to reach, bend, squat or kneel for intermittent periods throughout work week up to four (4) times per week.
Mechanical aptitude
PC skills
Must be able to work holidays and/or overtime as needed
Ability to read and create drawings proficiently
