Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with meat products, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality cuts of meat according to customer specifications. You will be responsible for preparing and portioning various types of meat, ensuring proper food safety and sanitation procedures, and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Meat Preparation:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming meat products.
- Prepare and portion meat products according to customer orders and specifications.
- Use various tools and equipment, such as knives, saws, and grinders, to cut and trim meat.
- Food Safety and Sanitation:
- Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the freshness and quality of meat products.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly to maintain a safe and hygienic environment.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing assistance and guidance in selecting meat products.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns regarding meat products, offering recommendations and solutions as needed.
- Uphold the company's commitment to exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of meat products and communicate with management regarding replenishment needs.
- Rotate stock and properly label products to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliation as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Meat Cutter or similar role, preferably in a retail or food service setting.
- Thorough knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and safe handling practices.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce consistently high-quality cuts of meat.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills for measuring and weighing meat products accurately.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand, lift, and move heavy objects throughout the shift.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
