Summary of Job Duties:
Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to Guests of bar and/or restaurant as well as providing a pleasant and entertaining atmosphere for all Guests.
Specific and Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepares order requests from customers or Cocktail Server
- Up-sells liquor
- Requests identification from customers when legal age is questioned
- Suggestive sells specialty and house cocktails, beers and wines
- Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks
- Serves wine and draught or bottled beer
- Collects money for drinks served
- Comps player’s drinks in accordance with house rules
- Orders or requisitions liquors and supplies from Beverage Manager
- Arranges bottles and glasses to make attractive display
- Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks
- Replenishes bar snacks such as chips, pretzels, and nuts
- Changes currency for gaming machines
- Stocks bar with necessary items
- Keeps abreast of all current specialty drinks, trends, new liquors, beers and wines
- Through knowledge of liquor types
- Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledgeable of menu items, including mixture and serving beverages, standard beverage recipes, preparation methods, glassware, garnishes, products, menu items, supplies and equipment
- Knowledgeable of wine and champagne characteristics by the glass, major wines, designated glassware, terminology, and garnishes
- Able to take initiative and exhibit flexibility
- Highly motivated and energetic personality
- Knowledge of hotel services, features, local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
- Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
PREFERRED:
- Two (2) years of experience in a bar or similar environment
- Experience working in a similar resort setting
Machinery or Work Equipment Used:
- Blender, beverage gun, cutlery, frozen drink machine, cash register, telephone
