Position Summary

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for safely and accurately receiving inbound material, stocking material, picking and delivering to production areas following documented procedures. Other responsibilities include receiving inbound freight, checking in product, stock put-away, operating manual or mechanical equipment to load and unload product and properly updating of inventory transactions in company business system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Support and adhere to Parker’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures and observe housekeeping guidelines. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to company rules and policy.
  • Ability to perform basic shipping/receiving functions including processing and interpreting support documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement.
  • Pick orders according to bay location, preparing correct quantity and type of components, according to production jobs.
  • Replenishes inventory in bay locations manually or using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Assists with loading or unloading containers as required.
  • Inspects cases of components / boxes to ensure that damaged or otherwise defective cases are not received / shipped. Reports problems to department supervision immediately.
  • Responsible for meeting established productivity standards.
  • Completes department paperwork as required.
  • Responsible for quality and safety of own work and compliance of all company procedures and policies.
  • May require operating powered equipment including any or all the following forklifts (Stand Up / Sit Down), Order Picker, Tugger, Turret Truck, Pallet Jack, Electric Pallet Jack. May require climbing a ladder.
  • Unloads incoming product and verifies accuracy of inbound product, matching packing slips to purchase orders and pull job orders to prepare for production.
  • Accurately processes stock, ensuring it is places in the proper areas.
  • Utilizes the company’s business system (scanning) to update inventory receiving transactions.
  • Participate in the physical inventory process, including completing regular cycle counts as required.
  • Unloads inbound trucks, stocking, and picking of material for production.
  • Participate in required company training initiatives.
  • Employee is required to timely report all hours worked utilizing the company’s time and attendance system.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualification Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED):
  • one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate will be required to walk, talk, or hear. Will be required to stand, sit and reach with both hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Normal weight to be lifted or moved is between 0 and 15 pounds.
