What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at Parrish Construction Group?
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise their assigned project in regards to costs, quality, schedule, safety and profitability
- Represent the company in a professional manner in action, appearance and attitude
- Ensure work completed onsite adheres to contract documents
- Be a "front-line" representative for customer service and overall customer satisfaction
- Establish new, and maintain existing, relationship with Clients, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Vendors
- Obtain preconstruction information from Project Manager. Ensure all drawings, specifications, and addendums and bid packages are included. Post addendums to appropriate contract documents.
- Review all Contract documents for overall understanding of responsibilities
- Assist Project Manager in creating, updating and implementing project schedule
- Setup jobsite office, temporary utilities and fencing/barricade
- Conduct weekly subcontractor schedule/coordination meetings
- Obtain daily logs from Subcontractors and filing onsite
- Review & tracking Request for Information requests from Subcontractors
- Review requests for change orders/contingency allocations to ensure their accuracy
- Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
- Schedule required inspections for project duration
- Coordinate all inspections which are required for project completion
- Education and/or Experience Requirements -
- Minimum: Five years of commercial construction experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Building Construction and five years related experience
- Language Skills -
- Team Member must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction documents, technical specifications and procedures
- Team Member must have the ability to write reports, daily logs, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Mathematical Skills -
- Team Member must have the ability to:
- calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- calculate feet and inch dimensions such as linear footage and square footage
- calculate basic accounting figures such as may be contained in pay requests and cost reports.
- Reasoning Ability -
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Licenses, Certificates, Registrations Needed -
- Driver's License in good standing
- OSHA 10 hour
- First Aid/CPR
- Other Skills and Abilities Needed -
- Ability to proficiently operate a computer
- Familiarity with construction terminology such as: Materials, Methods, and Divisions of Work
- Fluency in the English language: Written and Verbal
