Part of the Family, LLC is a locally owned senior support organization serving Bluffton, Hilton Head, and the surrounding Lowcountry. We provide Dementia Support Services, Senior Care Management, and Life Enrichment Services—helping older adults stay engaged, supported, and connected while giving families peace of mind.

About the Role:

Life Enrichment Assistants provide one-on-one engagement and social support for older adults-especially those living with dementia. This role is great for individuals who are compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic about helping seniors stay active and connected.

Responsibilities include designing and facilitating personalized activities, outings, and meaningful experiences that support emotional, cognitive, and social well-being in the home or community setting.

This position may require working with clients on Hilton Head Island. Applicants do not need to live on Hilton Head, but should be comfortable commuting to and working regularly on the island.

Scope of Work and Key Responsibilities:

Personalized Engagement & Activities

• Plan and facilitate individualized activities based on the client’s interests and abilities.
• Provide meaningful engagement such as conversation, games, art, music, light exercise, cooking, storytelling, or sensory activities.
• Use professional judgment and creativity to structure sessions that promote joy, purpose, and daily enrichment.

Social & Community Connection

• Offer warm companionship and encourage social interaction in the home or community.
• Support participation in community outings, programs, and enrichment opportunities as appropriate.
• Help clients maintain identity, routine, and a sense of connection.

Cognitive & Emotional Support

• Incorporate cognitive enrichment such as puzzles, reading, trivia, or memory-based activities.
• Provide gentle prompts, reassurance, and supportive conversation to reduce isolation or anxiety.
• Maintain healthy boundaries while honoring autonomy and dignity.

Documentation & Professional Communication

• Submit brief visit notes after each session.
• Communicate updates or concerns to Part of the Family per contracted expectations.
• Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong interpersonal communication.

Qualifications:

• Genuine compassion for older adults and individuals living with cognitive changes.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workflow and schedule.
• Comfortable engaging clients in their homes or community settings.
• Willingness to travel to Hilton Head Island.
• Background or experience in dementia care, senior services, or planning activities/engagement for older adults, whether through professional roles or personal caregiving, is preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a background check.

Compensation & Structure:

• Independent Contractor (1099) role: contractor is responsible for their own taxes, schedule, materials, and methods.
• Pay: Starting at $25 per hour
• Part-time, flexible hours set by the contractor.
• No employee benefits.
• Hours may begin as little as 0–3 hours per week with one client, with the opportunity to increase as new clients are added and as the contractor chooses to grow their caseload.
