At the forefront of medical discovery as it relates to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer and dementia, Pennington Biomedical Research Center is a campus of Louisiana State University and conducts basic, clinical and population research. The Center includes Basic Science, Clinical Research, and Population and Public Health, enabling both focused research and translational science. Research at Pennington Biomedical is supported broadly by multiple NIH Research Centers , and includes approximately 65 faculty and 20 postdoctoral fellows who comprise a network of 44 laboratories and 13 highly specialized core service facilities. Pennington Biomedical Research Center , a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Scientific Editor in the Biomedical Imaging Laboratory.
The Lab Manager Scientific Editor will be responsible for the editing, drafting and publishing developing, editing, updating, proofreading, and summarizing content of scientific and non-scientific papers, letters, and programs. Additional responsibilities include overseeing study data management, assisting in study data interpretation, and assisting with data collected in the lab.

- Developing, editing, updating, proofreading, and summarizing scientific and non-scientific content.
- Generating scientific presentations, executive summaries and/or outcomes of clinical activities.
- Literature reviews, slide creation/editing and additional editorial writing tasks.
- Edit and fact-check clinical and scientific content.
- Formatting references to meet AMA style.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an editorial capacity in a medical communications/publishing/education environment.
- Excellent ability to quickly and proficiently edit and fact-check medical and technical materials.
- Excellent reading comprehension, listening and analytical skills, and oral and written communication skills.
- A successful record of handling multiple simultaneous projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrate exceptional written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of English grammar and Chicago/AMA standard style guides.
- Have a strong interest in the medical field and healthcare professional education.
- Understand content strategies and trends that will guide engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or related field.
- Three (3) - five (5) years of experience working in an editorial capacity in a medical communications/publishing/education environment.
- Understanding and knowledge of MRI/MRS and PET data.
- Experience in publication and/or clinical healthcare setting.
