A Senior Accounting Manager to lead all general accounting matters and is responsible for the daily operations associated with financial statement activities, and tax filings. The Senior Accounting Manager will ensure timely and accurate financial information to both internal and external stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone looking to transition from public accounting to a dynamic and innovative work environment.
What You Will Do…
- Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
- Oversee and manage lease accounting, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
- Make recommendations and participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
- Direct and perform financial accounting functions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
- Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses
- Assist with finance functions, projects, and initiatives
- Assist with the development and implementation of annual capital budget process.
- Ensure that all accounting functions are executed properly and efficiently in accordance with applicable financial accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls, financial procedures, compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local laws, and compliance with accounting policies of the organization.
- Ensure that current accounting standards and legal requirements are met.
- Provide budget analysis, financial reporting, and financial trends for the leadership
- Contribute and serve as a subject matter expert on the organization's leadership team.
What You Bring…
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred but not required
- Audit experience a plus but not required
- SaaS experience a plus but not required
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills for complex business cases and process improvements.
- Ability to work independently or with others as part of a cross-functional team.
- Ability to understand business objectives and communicate as needed to other team members or external stakeholders.
- Advance technical aptitude and technology skills including Microsoft Excel
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint)
- Self-Starter, takes initiative and is results-driven
