What You Will Do
Responsible for developing, providing, and coordinating direct core team member education, indirect patient education, orientation training, development of curriculum and individual learning plans throughout Surgical Services. Collaborates with Surgical Services leadership and nursing education professionals to coordinate, influence, and assist with the implementation of nursing care and related activities throughout all perioperative units. Assesses, develops and implements orientation and education programs for Surgical Services team members to positively impact the quality of patient care. Promotes the Mission, Vision, Values of Peterson Health.
Required Education
BSN
Preferred Education
Master’s degree in nursing, education or other related field
Required Skills
Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word Written and Spoken Communications including leading groups. Proficient in gathering and presenting statistical data (excel, power point, word, etc).
Preferred Skills
Experience with public speaking, presentations with staff and community.
Required Licensure Registration Certification
Current licensure in good standing to practice as a RN in the State of Texas. BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CNOR or CAPA or CPAN
Required Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in the Perioperative setting, scrubbing, circulating Pre-op or PACU. Manager
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in PACU/Preop, Endoscopy. Prior experience as a preceptor, nurse educator role, board runner, or nurse manager role.
