Procurement Specialist
Pasadena, TX
PSC Group is seeking a full-time Procurement Specialist to join the PSC team at our headquarters in Pasadena, TX. The primary responsibility of the Procurement Specialist is to plan, coordinate and administer procurement functions, including solicitation, issuance, and evaluation; purchasing of all materials and services; and maintenance of vendor databases. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform work requiring considerable independence, initiative, and judgment to resolve a variety of complex procurement strategies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Establishes effective working relations with vendors to determine industry capabilities, potential vendors, market conditions and other information for preparing requests for bids or proposals.
- Develops relationships and works with key internal customers to understand strategic direction, third party supplier requirements, and corporate objectives and priorities.
- Works closely with all levels of leadership, with open communication regarding needs and expectations.
- Procures, sources, and negotiates the buying and/or leasing of machinery, equipment, tools, consumables, packaging materials, parts, and services as necessary to support business line.
- Manages requisitions and purchase orders from start to finish.
- Responsible for site purchases and company needs; provides basic guidance to sites and vendors on the procurement process; and resolves vendor/site complaints.
- Initiates and processes requests for quotations/proposals for department purchases, researching, evaluating, and making appropriate selection of commodity or service.
- Responsible for supplier communication to resolve transactional issues.
- Responsible for resolving invoice price and terms discrepancies to enable order processing.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
- Minimum of two years procurement experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with heavy equipment purchasing preferred purchasing
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines on a consistent basis
