Job Title: Production Technician
Classification: Full Time Salary, Exempt
Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 Bonus eligibility and Benefits
Reports to: Production Manager
Date: 11-19-2024
Location: Austin, TX (This position is NOT eligible for Remote work.)
Summary:
The Production Technician specializes in the final assembly, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, repair, and/or upgrade of complete LIDAR survey-grade mapping solutions. The Production Technician will support Production and Engineering Departments with the production, and Research and Development, and Quality Assurance of all LiDAR Systems Phoenix LiDAR Systems delivers to our customer base.
Essential Functions:
- Works with schematics to test, analyze, and troubleshoot systems on a component level.
- Uses electronic lab equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot electronic components.
- Generates detailed inspection/diagnostic reports and documents actions by completing production and quality documentation.
- Produces components by assembling parts and sub assemblies using Bill of Material, pinout diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Configures and troubleshoots system components using the Linux command line.
- Resolves assembly problems by effectively communicating with different departments.

- Work Environment: In office/production lab setting
- Physical Demands: Extended periods of sitting or standing and computer use, carrying or lifting up to 50 lbs for short periods of time
- Position Type and expected schedule: Full time, On-Site, 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday - Friday
- Required Travel: None
Requirements
Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Must have knowledge of electrical components (resistors, capacitors, transistors, MOSFETs, diodes, and microcontrollers...)
- Must show soldering experience and be able to solder components with package types (QFP, QFN, 0805, 0603, and 0402...)
- Linux command line (ssh, rsync, vim, basic file operations...)
- Networking experience (Ethernet, TCP/IP...)
- Linux storage experience (devices, partitions, filesystems, mounting...)
- Linux troubleshooting (dmesg, lsusb, systemctl, journalctl...)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
- One to Three years of production experience
- High school Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and experience:
- Associates degree in applicable field engineering related discipline
- Understanding of mechanical, optical, and electrical systems
- Ability to learn Bash and new command languages
- Experience with Unleashed or other inventory management software
- Experience working with a small entrepreneurial company
