Join a great opportunity with a growing organization in the Aviation field. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is seeking an experienced full-time Airport Communication Dispatcher.
As an Airport Communications Dispatcher, you will work in the Airport Operations Center (AOC) and be responsible for monitoring policy, procedure, and regulation compliance through observation and communication.
Responsibilities:
Monitors, operates and controls access points to restricted areas on airport property.- Acts as the airport non-emergency services dispatcher as well as the primary communications hub using a mass notification system, telephone switchboard, radio, e-mail, and publishing.
- Communicates with internal departments and dispatches operational resources.
- Monitors live displays of automated airport systems for effective dissemination of safety and operational information. Is the primary operator of the airport Mass Notification System.
- Assigns airline parking and terminal resources based on the published operating guidelines.
- Monitors flight information for accuracy.
- Monitors and operates the airport Access Control and Access Monitoring System (ACAMS) and video system. Resolves alarms through research and communication controls access, and dispatches security responses.
- Primary public and internal switchboard monitor/operator. Operates radios and messaging platforms.
- Performs essential communication and dissemination functions during emergencies, severe weather events, and irregular operations. Creates a record of events and data as they occur.
- Provides clerical support activities such as directing callers, data entry, preparing billing statements, providing customer service, and maintaining logs.
- Performs additional assignments including generating reports, database entry, and general correspondence.
NOTE: This department is a 24/7 operation. Scheduling for this position will be up to 40 hours per week and is subject to shift bid.
Anticipated schedule:
- Friday Night: 2000-0700 (11)
- Saturday Night: 2000-0700 (11)
- Sunday Night: 2000-0500 (9)
- Monday Night: 2000-0500 (9)
- Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport participates in the Arizona State Retirement System which is a mandatory pre-taxed percentage per paycheck.
Minimum Qualifications Required: High School diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) years of dispatching work experience; or a combination of one (1) year of work experience in either security, aviation, or airport environment and two (2) years of working with computers as a primary job function.
Preferred / Desirable Qualifications: AAAE ACE Communications Certifications; FEMA ICS Certification; work experience with data entry and database management, and customer service.
