Senior Accountant needed!!
Our client is a leading global manufacturer of consumer goods. They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at our Minneapolis area facility.
In this crucial role, you'll be responsible for providing comprehensive financial support to our plant operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and offering valuable insights to drive informed business decisions. You'll work closely with management, production teams, and corporate finance to maintain robust financial controls and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Do:
- Cost Accounting: Manage and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, overhead, and materials. Develop and maintain standard costs, perform variance analysis, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation, conduct regular physical inventory counts, and reconcile discrepancies. Implement and monitor inventory control procedures.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for the plant.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts for plant operations. Monitor performance against budget and provide insightful analysis of variances.
- General Ledger: Maintain general ledger accounts, perform journal entries, and reconcile accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Fixed Assets: Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles (GAAP), and relevant regulations.
- Analysis & Support: Provide financial analysis and recommendations to plant management to improve operational efficiency and profitability. Participate in cross-functional projects as needed.
What You'll Bring:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Optional: CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- Knowledge: Solid understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methodologies, and GAAP.
- Analytical Acumen: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Salary : $75,000 - $100,000
