What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nurse Aide LONG TERM CARE position at Pioneers Medical Center?
Reports to: LPN, RN, Resident Care Director and Director of Nursing
- Professional
- High school graduate or currently pursuing a high school diploma.
- Experience in long-term care preferred.
- Current BLS (CPR) certification preferred; required within six months of date of employment or transfer.
- Demonstrates knowledge of confidentiality principles.
- If not certified, must complete a minimum of 16 hours of a nurse assistant training program, covering the required topics, prior to hire and obtain
- Must adhere to the standards and policies of the corporate compliance program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and
- Adheres to the safety guidelines as outlined by the facility and reports unsafe equipment, areas, practices, etc., as required by policy.
- Personal
- Must complete pre-employment physical and physical therapy work capacity evaluation.
- Cognizant of the potential for exposure to blood/body fluids. Understands and utilizes universal precautions.
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times.
- Demonstrates appropriate interpersonal communication skills necessary to deal effectively with patient/residents/families, Pioneers Medical Center staff, and the public.
- Understands the need to adhere to established dress code. Presents a neat and well groomed appearance.
- Present and punctual for all scheduled shifts.
- Is aware that differing shift work may be required in order to ensure adequate coverage and optimal patient care. May be required to work days, nights, weekends and holidays
- Upon hire, will be required to read, sign and adhere to the Legal Compliance Program of Pioneers Medical Center.
- Demonstrates cooperative attitude in working with other staff as a member of the Health Care Team.
- Other Requirements
- Must be able to function under the supervision of a charge nurse.
- Demonstrates ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions.
- Demonstrates good communication and i4terpersonal skills under stress.
- Must observe and adhere to proper principles of body mechanics.
