Continuous Improvement Technician
Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Technician supports all operational excellence efforts in the production facility. The person performing in this role are models for the behaviors and actions that create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement. Participate in and contribute to lean improvements activities, looking at safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and efficiency, delivering benefits to support customer satisfaction. Bring knowledge of their area of work to the lean process.
Essential Functions:
- Participate, assist, and lead kaizen events to drive system and process improvement
- Support the implementation of process improvement projects
- Exhibit and develop a high level of critical thinking skills
- Proficiently apply and train practical, team-based problem-solving methodology
- Utilize Leader Standard Work as a basis for structured and organized daily routines
- Facilitate the adoption of continuous improvement as a way of life; foster positive culture change
- Demonstrate the ability to apply and train others in the application of lean tools and methodologies
- Support cooperation, teamwork, and positive working relationships across all functional areas
- Autonomously identify and eliminate waste in manufacturing processes
- Display and be able to train lean leadership behaviors
- Continuously develop skills and abilities in line with organizational goals
Required Skills/Abilities
- Must be familiar working in a high volume and inventory-intensive environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner

- Knowledge and ability to train others in waste identification
- Ability to gather facts and analyze problems in depth
- Ability to support continuous improvement efforts on all shifts
Qualifications and Experience Levels:
- Previous lean manufacturing experience would be advantageous
- Awareness of lean techniques
- Yellow belt six sigma qualification or equivalent
- High School Diploma with technical experience – Pursuing or having an Associate degree is preferred
- Participation in Lean Kaizen events
- Self-Initiative – needs minimal supervision, self-starter
- Influencing skills – builds trust with team members; helps them see the win-win
- Computers Skills – familiar with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint; proficient typing skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Flexible to changing work demands
- Communication skills to participate in and, at times lead, kaizen events
- Ability to sit, walk and stand as required for multiple Gemba walks per day and all-day kaizen events; ability to demonstrate most job functions on the floor; can lift up to 40 pounds.
- Flexible to support both shifts as needed
- Bilingual is a plus
