Med/Surg RN Job Details – Wilson, NC

• Location: Wilson, NC 27893 (Eastern North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel RN contract
• Start Dates: 8/2/2025, 8/18/2025, 9/1/2025, 9/15/2025
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit (22 beds per unit, 3rd & 5th floors)
• Patient Ratio: 6:1 up to 7:1
• Electronic Health Record: MEDITECH
• Scrub Color: Any
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Experience with MEDITECH EHR preferred
• Ability to float to Telemetry and Emergency Department (ED) as needed
• Must reside at least 60 miles from Wilson, NC to qualify as a travel nurse
  
  

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a Med/Surg hospital setting
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Float to Telemetry and Emergency Department (ED) units as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using MEDITECH electronic health records
• Provide compassionate support, education, and communication to patients and their families
