Key Job Details – Travel RN Opportunity in Charlotte, NC

• Location: Charlotte, NC 28204 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Position: Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Unit: Cardiac Telemetry/Medical-Surgical (5F Card Tele)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:5-6 (max), Daily Census: 28 (30 rooms)
• Float Requirement: May float to other med/surg or cardiac units as needed
• Scrubs: Navy and/or White
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1660–$1700
  
  

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (must be in hand by start date)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
• Previous travel RN experience required (unit does not accept first-time travelers)
• Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting system
• Strong clinical skills in IV start, telemetry, EKG rhythm interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Cardiac drip experience required
• Ability to float to other medical-surgical or cardiac units as needed
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
  
  

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to adults with cardiac and med/surg diagnoses, including CHF, NSTEMI/AMI, heart failure, and post-cardiac procedures
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac drips (no titration without MD order), and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
• Perform bedside procedures as needed, including IV starts and assisting with bedside cardioversion
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Float to other med/surg or cardiac units as required based on census and staffing needs
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EHR and follow SBAR communication protocols
• Participate in orientation and complete all required modules prior to start date
• Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care in a dynamic hospital environment
