What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Strategist position at PlatinumBlack?
Working closely with both the client and our own in-house marketing and creative teams, the Marketing Strategist will see client strategy development through from initial engagement to in-market delivery. Will gain deep understanding of client business strategies, markets, drivers, competitors, resources and objectives. Armed with this understanding, the strategist will create value propositions, business and brand strategies, messages and other mission-critical components that will help guide the strategy to market. An ideal candidate will be driven and able to think in terms of the big picture and critical details.
Responsibilities
- Build strong, consultative relationships with clients and uncover actionable business, market, audience, leadership, and operational insights
- Partner with in-house marketing team to draw insightful conclusions that can be used to develop value propositions and inform client strategy; present mission-critical research, findings, strategies and approaches to both client and in-house teams
- Perform in-depth research to understand client businesses, markets, and audiences
- Conduct interviews with internal and client customer stakeholders to draw critical messaging insights
- Develop compelling brand narratives that inform and inspire—and the detailed messaging strategies that support them across markets, audiences, products, etc.
- Craft detailed buyer journey maps and integrated channel strategies that guide demand generation efforts
- Work with the marketing team to build go to market plans and content strategies that align with client business objectives
- Brief creative teams with clear, strategic direction and collaborate from kickoff through final delivery to ensure strategic alignment across all assets
- Write creative briefs and work closely with the creative team from kickoff to publishing; review final assets to ensure alignment with marketing strategy
- Collaborate with marketing operations team to understand in-market program performance and optimize program strategy and assets
Leadership
- Provide effective management for the team to mentor, develop and coach members of the team
- Develop a team culture, where expertise is shared, continuous learning and creative innovation is the norm
- Advocate for marketing best practices and ensure the customer voice remains central to all strategy work
Qualifications
- 5 years’ experience in B2B marketing strategy, integrated multi-channel marketing, marketing communications leadership and other adjacent disciplines
- Demonstrated success in developing effective marketing strategies that have helped achieve quantifiable corporate objectives
- Experience developing and presenting strategy presentations to client management teams
- Ability to understand complex clients, markets, audiences and sales cycles
- Apt at shaping a compelling value narrative around customer, market and business data
- Experience working closely with creative teams to develop marketing program assets
- Understanding of a variety of marketing channels; digital, traditional and experiential
- Experience with account-based marketing initiatives
- Persuasive communications skills and ability to provide constructive feedback with confidence and courtesy
- Consulting experience a plus
