What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructors for After School Program 2025-2026 position at Play Study Win, Inc?
The person selected for this position will be under direct supervision of the Program Director, and will be responsible for providing an appropriate safe, caring, and enriching environment for children enrolled in the Play Study Win after school program.
Instructors are responsible for conducting themselves in an appropriate manner, setting the example for children, parents, and co-workers by reflecting the program core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. MUST BE 21 OR OLDER.
Essential Functions and Job Duties:
- Supervise students to ensure safety and appropriate behavior at all times.
- Plan and lead engaging activities (academic, recreational, creative, or skill-based).
- Create a positive and inclusive environment that supports learning and social development.
- Take attendance and maintain accurate records of student participation.
- Implement curriculum or lessons plans provided by the program or develop your own, if applicable.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and conflict resolution strategies.
- Support students' academic needs by offering homework help, tutoring, or mentoring.
- Communicate with parents /guardians, as needed, regarding student progress or concerns.
- Collaborate with other staff and program coordinators to ensure smooth operations.
- Set up, clean, and organize the space before and after activities.
- Daily communication with the Program Director.
- Assist in planning events, showcases, or student presentations.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
- Document student work for portfolios or program evaluations.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma, preferably a college student.
- At least 3 years of experience working with Middle School aged children, grades 6-8 in a structured setting.
- Social and Emotional Knowledge of youth development stages.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate record of good attendance and punctuality.
- Must be fingerprinted and provide a medical clearance in order to work in school-age child care.
- MUST BE 21 OR OLDER. Applicants under 21 years of age will be immediately rejected.
Work Hours are between 2:00-6:00pm, Monday to Friday
