What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Port Townsend Paper Company?

We produce sustainable solutions to our customers including kraft pulp, paper, containerboard, and specialty products by blending virgin and recycled fibers at our mill in Port Townsend, Washington. We currently have an opening for an Environmental Lab Technician based out of our location in Port Townsend, Washington.
As a Lab Technician, you will be required to function in a team of three people and perform any number of these tasks as they become qualified. Team members will rotate job duties on a frequency that maintains their abilities and can cover for vacations. Job tasks will be assigned to each team member to level the workload as required to include the following:
- Humidity Lab: collection & rotation of production samples, linerboard testing, customer quality review, customer samples, testing customer-specific samples, maintain and calibrate test equipment
- Pulp Lab: Finalize salable tons, operator log verification with forte, calibrate kappa samples, consistencies checks, freeness/consistency test
- Reports: production, lost time, grade tracker, pulp test, production certificate of analysis, chemical certification of analysis, chip quality report for hog fuel, chip bone dry reports, chip quality reports
- Chip Lab: chip collection, size classifications, moisture content, maintenance, and calibration of lab equipment
- Miscellaneous: CBC moisture quality checks, chip moisture tracking, update TOPS, finalized culled bales, finalize wrapper stock tons, sample collection for forte

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Experience: 6 to 12 months comparable job experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Math aptitude, basic computer skills including Excel
Education Level:
- Two-year degree or equivalent experience in comparable job
