Aquatics Director

Objective: We are looking for an Aquatics Director to join our Portage Country Club Team this summer.

Position Details: Seasonal Position, last for 20 weeks. Time Frame needed is from May through Mid-September

Responsible for the pool operations including all safe and effective use of chemicals, swimming instruction, and the club’s swim team. Supervises lifeguards, swimming instructors, and synchro swimming instructors. Reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Duties include:

• Developing weekly work schedules for employees
• Maintaining proper chemical balances in the pools and maintain equipment in coordination with the club’s maintenance department
• Assisting in pool opening and closing at the beginning and end of the season
• Provide necessary orientation and training for pool staff
• Helps to arrange a program of and a schedule for private and group swim lessons
• Helps in maintaining and keeping all necessary records concerning pool chemicals, accident reports, payroll reports, and lesson income
• Representing the club during special pool events as required
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Enforcing club safety and conduct rules as stated in the employee handbook
• Providing aquatics- related information for the monthly club newsletter

Facilitation of daily swim team practices and swim meets

Education and Certifications:

• Competitive swimming experience as either a coach or athlete preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree in education, Physical Education, Recreational Management or Health Sciences or in the process of obtaining one of these degrees preferred
• Lifeguard Certification by the American Red Cross or equivalent, CPR/AED, and first aid.
