What You’ll Do
The Accounting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining accurate internal financial records for the company. The ideal candidate will have Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable experience along with a strong background in managing company expenses.
The Day-to Day
Maintain accurate financial records and general bookkeeping by documenting all financial transactions. This involves updating ledgers, preparing balance sheets, and managing accounts payable, receivable and company expenses.
Ensure timely, respectful, and courteous communications with outside stakeholders e.g., vendors, investors, etc.
Regularly reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy in financial statements and identify any discrepancies that may arise.
Handle the processing of incoming and outgoing invoices, ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers, and managing receipts from customers.
Develop and implement standard operating procedures to streamline and optimize the A/P, A/R, and Bookkeeping process.
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring, including analyzing financial data to help with budget planning and expense management.
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Provide support during internal and external audits by supplying necessary documents and answering inquiries related to financial transactions and policies.
Continually assess and improve financial processes and systems for efficiency and effectiveness.
May assist in processing payroll, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company contributions.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, ERP), Microsoft Excel, and other financial management tools.
3 years accounting (Bookkeeping, A/P, A/R) experience.
Strong analytical skills to assess financial data, identify trends, and recommend solutions.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail to manage financial data and ensure compliance with legal standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting financial information and collaborating with team members.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

As an Accounting Specialist, you are entrusted with handling sensitive financial information related to our company, clients, and employees, requiring adherence to the highest standards of data protection, confidentiality, and security. You are obligated to protect all financial data, maintain strict confidentiality, comply with all relevant privacy laws and company policies (including GDPR, HIPAA, etc.), participate in mandatory privacy training, and promptly report any suspected privacy violations or security weaknesses. Accepting this role signifies your agreement to these conditions, with the understanding that failure to comply may result in disciplinary action, termination of employment, and potential legal consequences.
Position is Full Time from our Westlake Village, CA office.
