Position Summary:
Poseida is seeking a highly capable and energetic Process Development Associate to join our late-stage Process Development team to develop novel cell processing platforms to support Poseida’s allogeneic cell therapy programs. The PD Associate will work to improve the current process and assist in developing several cutting-edge technologies in constant pursuit of the best possible way to deliver our proprietary technologies. The PD Associate will work in conjunction with a team of scientists and engineers to develop, optimize, scale-up, and characterize in-process, upstream and downstream methods to improve critical variables in the development process. The primary focus of this position is to support development and optimization of upstream manufacturing processes. The candidate will also participate with activities to support the development of new platform technology evaluation and implementation. Position requires excellent communication and presentation skills, troubleshoot technical issues, and to work with automation instrumentation and software. This position is located at our headquarters in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Develop CAR-T manufacturing platforms and assess platform suitability across cell therapy programs
- Design and execute process development and product characterization studies.
- Analysis of CAR-T products to assess efficacy and phenotype using flow cytometry and in vitro assays
- Evaluate alternative technologies to create robust, reproducible, and scalable next generation CAR-T manufacturing processes
- Work closely with project leads and other functions to execute critical studies to ensure project timelines are maintained
- Analyze and present results in team and cross-functional meetings
- Document laboratory procedures and experiments with great attention to detail in electronic laboratory systems
Requirements
Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., chemistry, biology, immunology or related field) with 0 – 2 years of relevant industry experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Must have technical knowledge in cell separation, processing, culture, and expansion
- Demonstrated excellent aseptic technique and suspension cell culture proficiency
- Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience in performing assays using human whole blood, PBMCs and/or purified T cell, such as multi-color flow cytometry
- Attention to detail with rigorous scientific thinking and clear oral and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and word processing
- Prior experience with statistical tools such as JMP and Prism is preferred
- Ability to multitask as well as prioritize tasks across multiple projects
- Strong team player and collaborative personality with a desire to contribute to innovative technologies and drive success
Process Development Associate Pay Rate: $35.10 per hour to $43.75 per hour
The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
