Job Summary:
The Human Resource Manager will use discretion to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including employee relations, vendor relations, applicant tracking, performance management, onboarding, terminations, administering pay, monitoring benefits and time off, revising and enforcing company policies and practices. The role reports to the resort’s General Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
- Proactively serves on the Safety Committee and contribute thought leadership to positively impact the culture.
- Responsible for the daily workflow of the department.
- Processes bi-weekly payroll, pay increases, transfers, benefit election changes, PTO awards.
- Document control including Form I-9, direct deposit, tax withholding, and job descriptions.
- Handles corrective action and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Creates onboarding plans and exit strategies with department heads and directors.
- Maintains the data integrity and process flows of the HRIS.
- Collaborates with Administration to create and plan employee surveys, rewards, recognition, employee appreciation activities and events.
- Provides support and guidance to managers and supervisors when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, employee relations, workplace injuries, and terminations.
- Manages all HR and Payroll documents, files, including retention.
- Manages the talent acquisition process and collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required to be successful in the respective role.
- Creates professional development programs and initiatives that provide cross-training or upward mobility opportunities for employees.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Supports the Administration team and performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field combined with a minimum of at least three years related experience.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience using ADP Workforce Now.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. This position is based mostly inside in an office setting with occasional duties outside that can be exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (8200 feet). Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain and/or stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift a minimum of 15 pounds. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the resort’s high-altitude facilities and in inclement weather and unsteady terrain.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
