Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Clinical Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing nutritional care to patients within a hospital setting. This position involves assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and supervising the dietary department to ensure optimal patient outcomes. A strong understanding of physiology and dietetics is essential for success in this role.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate dietary needs and nutritional status.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans that address specific health conditions, including weight loss and tube feeding requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate dietary recommendations into overall patient care.
- Supervise dietary staff to ensure adherence to established nutrition protocols and standards.
- Provide education and counseling to patients regarding nutrition, dietary restrictions, and healthy eating habits.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, assessments, and care plans in compliance with hospital policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution with a major in food and nutrition, in conjunction with Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education approved program. Advanced degree preferred. Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration preferred but will accept registry eligible*. Two years experience in dietetics and/or food service operations preferred. Certification with the State of Indiana or application for certification within one month of registration.
