We’re hiring a Construction Manager with deep expertise in substation construction to lead field and office operations for a greenfield utility substation project. This individual will be the boots-on-the-ground leader driving daily execution while managing project scope, schedule, and quality from yard work to energization.

We’re hiring a Construction Manager with deep expertise in substation construction to lead field and office operations for a greenfield utility substation project. This individual will be the boots-on-the-ground leader driving daily execution while managing project scope, schedule, and quality from yard work to energization.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site prep, grading, and foundation work for substation yards.
- Supervise installation of grounding grids, structural steel, control enclosures, conduits, and above-grade electrical components.
- Coordinate with utility companies, engineers, and QA/QC to ensure conformance with design and safety standards.
- Oversee subcontractors, schedule daily work plans, and lead site safety meetings.
- Track project progress, resolve field issues, and propose schedule acceleration strategies when needed.
- Maintain daily reports, progress photos, and inspection documentation.
- 8 years’ experience in high-voltage substation construction (69kV and above required).
- Proven ability to manage all aspects of a greenfield substation project.
- Understanding of substation equipment, relay panels, protection schemes, and grounding practices.
- OSHA 30 certified; NETA awareness preferred.
- Proficiency with scheduling tools (P6, MS Project) and field reporting software.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
