JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
Responsibilities
- Manage and Operate a SAFE, clean, and courteous Fleet
- Manage and maintain company assets including Tractors, Trailers, and supporting equipment to ensure maximum utilization and cost efficiency
- Coordinate equipment preventative maintenance schedules for all owned, leased, or rented equipment.
- Ensure all reporting requirements are accurate and on time
- Mentoring and Coaching all reports to be 100% responsible and actively engaged. Includes warehouse employees and drivers
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse while practicing FIFO ● Understanding monthly budget and manage costs
- Reviewing all invoices turned in for payment for accurate billing
- Responsible for accurate month end inventory of all finished goods ● Continuous Improvement in all aspects of shipping/receiving to create a safe accident free department
- Manage all housekeeping and sustainability efforts within the department Planning
- Planning all loads to be most efficient and time sensitive
- Maximize tractor and trailer utilization
- Manage costs for outsourcing deliveries
On Time Delivery
- Ensure on-time delivery to all customers
- Clear and concise communication with customer service and production on any potential late orders proactively
- Follow up with drivers throughout the day to keep lines of communication open Warehouse
- Follow all safety policies and hold reports accountable
- Maintain a clean and clutter free warehouse
- Establish housekeeping and recycling standards
- Continuous improvement with Aged Inventory and FIFO practices
JOB SKILLS REQUIRED
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSR Regulations.
- 5yrs forklift experience preferred
- Strong time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills ● Strong leadership and team management skills
- Self driven initiative to improve departments
- Strong emotional intelligence in stressful situations
- Ability to manage employees and assets
- Ability to provide the highest level of service to both internal and external customers ● Maintain 100% compliance with all local, state and federal laws
- Ability to make decisions in a fast–paced environment, communicate information clearly, and keep a constant focus on customer satisfaction and managing the fleet Exceptional customer service and problem solving skills both verbal and written.
- Develop and maintain healthy relationships with vendors, suppliers, and direct reports
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, volume.
- Basic math abilities.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations and collaborate with a successful result.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
