What You Will Do
A Systems engineer is needed to support the development of Fuel System Components and their software control algorithms for a new military fighter engine development program. The role is responsible for executing component and subsystem analyses to generate technical specifications for fuel system components such as Pumps, Control Valves, hydraulic actuators, and associated sensing and electronic control interface devices. The role is also responsible for working with their peers in Electronic Controls, Externals Architecture, kinematic subsystems, Software Development, and others to successfully integrate fuel control hardware into the engine system in time for First Engine to Test

The EDSI Commercial Engines and Military Engines organizations are focused on delivering systems solutions to meet customer requirements, driving engineering quality and productivity, and developing the next generation if systems engineers. EDSI is responsible for the integration of components, modules, and sub-systems into world class commercial and military propulsion systems.
Controls & Diagnostics Systems (CDS)
CDS develops complex, cyber-resilient control systems and software for commercial and military engines including power and thermal management Systems and auxiliary power units. CDS also develops advanced diagnostic & health management systems to monitor our products, forecast events and help facilitate MRO operations. With growing emphasis on sustainability, CDS is on the forefront of system development for hybrid and electric propulsion.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 5 years of engineering experience, or an Advanced Degree and 3 years’ experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Working experience with integrating hardware and software control development for pumps, hydraulic actuation, or fluid flow control systems
- Familiarity with MatLab, Simulink, Dymola, or similar modeling analysis tools
