Position Summary
This position delivers quality assurance of all activities for the PPS business units, providing confidence that safety and operational work requirements are consistently fulfilled.
Position Responsibilities
Inspects PPS business unit activities for quality assurance of customer operations standards, operation procedures, safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Ensures all environmental requirements are met as they pertain to the natural gas distribution system.
Monitors job performance and makes independent judgments related to continued quality and safe work performance having authority to adjust the work process and to halt jobs if necessary.
Documents and reports inspection findings activities to meet customer Operating Standards, industry practices, and safety and environmental guidelines, communicating to appropriate management as necessary.
Identifies problems, provides recommendations for solutions and improvements and implements changes as approved.
Ensures with the local area management that our employees Operator Qualification records, including the current plastic fusion and/or welding certification documentation, are current and in compliance prior to work being performed.
Performs and records job site safety inspections.
Desired Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal, leadership and project management skills
Proficient in oral and written communication skills with the ability to express and exchange ideas clearly and concisely
Knowledge and ability to apply good judgment to effectively assess and recommend solutions in day-to-day activities and emergency situations
Proficient skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
Knowledge and understanding of complex map reading
Natural gas distribution practice,
Plastic pipe fusion processes including Butt Fusion, Socket Fusion, Saddle Fusion and Electro-Fusion
Proper trenching and backfilling practices
Prerequisites
Valid high school diploma or equivalent
Current, valid driver license with a good driving record
Minimum of five (5) years of direct work experience in a field operations. Experienced in the installation of natural gas distribution service line and main piping, gas metering, etc. is desired
