Receipt Inspector

Primary Function:
Inspects products received by Premier Technology which are manufactured or processed by suppliers for government and commercial use, to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examines articles for defects and sort articles according to extent of defect.
• Inspects product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.
• Attaches identification data onto product.
• Records non-conformances causing goods to be returned.
• Unpacks incoming shipments.
• Confirm incoming items meet that which is specified in the code, procedures, and/or customer's specifications.
• Interact with Premier Technology, Inc. suppliers to resolve conflicts or non- conformance.
• Control receiving documentation, including material test reports, certificates of conformance, material analysis data, etc.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
One-year related experience in equivalent inspection or testing activities; or High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months related experience and/or training; or Associate degree and three months related experience and/or training.

Ability to verify material size, grade, type, etc. including documentation verification against code or standard requirements.

Additional skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software.

Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Receiving Inspector I: 0-2 Years Experience

• Entry level
• Some to no receiving experience
• Some to no quality experience
• Little to no fabrication experience
• May be able to perform basic dimensional inspections with hand tools (caliper, and tape)

Receiving Inspector II: 2-4 Years Experience

• Intermediate level
• Basic receiving experience
• Basic Quality experience
• Understanding of fabrication
• Perform basic dimensional inspections with hand tools (caliper, and tape)

Receiving Inspector Lead: 4-6 Year Experience

• Advanced level
• Advanced receiving experience
• Advanced Quality requirement experience
• Understanding of fabrication
• Understanding of dimensional inspections with hand tools (caliper, and tape)
• May have Optical Comparator level II, Super Micrometer level II, and has or is obtaining hours for VT level II.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is regularly required to sit in a stationary position for extended periods of time while working at a computer. The job may require climbing of ladders and/or stairs. The employee will often lift heavy pieces of metal, work with arms overhead, torso twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to stand, often for extended periods; the employee must frequently lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move weight above 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include strong visual acuity (with or without correction), color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. Long hours (10 or more) are often scheduled, and job may require overtime.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noises, tripping hazards, exposure to sparks, welding arc, and open flame. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, mild industrial chemicals, inclement weather, risk of electrical shock and vibration. It is essential for employees to maintain awareness of their surroundings and when required, wear the necessary PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
