Overview:
Prestige Health and Beauty Sciences Academy is currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Accounting Instructor to join our career education team. This role is ideal for a business professional with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for teaching adult learners in a practical, hands-on learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction in accounting principles, practices, and software tools aligned with industry and certification standards.
- Teach foundational topics such as financial accounting, payroll, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger processes.
- Guide students in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) to simulate real-world business scenarios.
- Prepare lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that support student learning and certification goals.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and skill evaluations.
- Provide academic support to a diverse student population in both classroom and lab settings.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and skill mastery.
- Stay up to date with current accounting standards, technologies, and industry trends.
Schedule & Commitment:
- Course Duration: 6 months
- Instructional Hours: Approximately 12 hours per week
- Format: On-site, 3–4 sessions per week (weekday availability required)
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Prior teaching or training experience with adult learners in a vocational, college, or business setting.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (especially QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to create a supportive and structured learning environment for diverse student populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent accounting certification.
- Experience developing course content or instructional materials.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Prior experience teaching in a career college or technical training environment.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.12 - $30.08 per hour
