About This Role: The Fiscal Specialist is the Team Lead of the Front Counter. Responsibilities include:
Performing accounts receivable duties
Researching to ensure all payment types are processed accurately and timely
Running automated processes for Lockbox and ebox online decisioning, Paypal receivables and working through discrepancies
Processing the IVR credit card payment and researching payments through our online banking accounts
Maintaining information by collecting, reconciling, and entering data in the tax system
Collecting and logging agency deposits and preparing for Brinks pickup
Posting deposits into an accounting database (Mobius).
This candidate will have the opportunity to learn the tax billing and collection process in local government. This position will also assist with Front Counter cashiering duties if needed and backup the Supervisor with scheduling, assisting taxpayers, and assisting Team members as needed.
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED with 3 years’ experience in financial processing.
Preferences:
· 1 years of Tax Administration experience
· Knowledge of REV ONE and CashOne.
· Knowledge of VA Tax Codes, local and state laws
· Knowledge of an accounting database (such as Mobius)
College degree with emphasis on the accounting field.
· Excellent written and oral communications with the public and internal customers
· Knowledge of Personal Property taxes, Business License, Business Tangibles, Food & Beverage, and Real Estate Taxes.
Special Requirements:
Candidates are required to pass a pre-employment background check.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday – 8:30-5:00pm
Starting Salary Range: $28.32 - $40.69
