What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Operations Consultant position at Principal Financial Group?
Principal is hiring for a Business Operations Consultant to join the Life and Disability Group Claims team. This role will support the systems and operational processes of Disability and Life Claims analysts and play a pivotal part in the transformation of how this team works and delivers value to the business by focusing on process improvement, efficiencies and modernization.
In this role the incumbent will:
- Act as a subject matter expert on assigned systems and manage projects that improve efficiency and transparency.
- Manage and evolve the overpayment process to minimize overpayments and improve process functionality.
- Support various process improvement initiatives by documenting, analyzing and redesigning current processes.
- Build and leverage relationships with multiple business partners and technical areas to ensure applications are optimized.
Success in this role will be determined by the incumbents:
- Ability to identify and solve problems through collaboration, technical capabilities, and innovation.
- Effective management of multiple projects and initiatives that enhance processes to meet current and future operational needs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3 plus years of related work experience supporting insurance claims, business operations, process improvement or project management.
A successful candidate will have / be:
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
- Detail and results oriented with the ability to work independently and offer creative solutions to problems.
- Demonstrable experience to deliver results, drive impactful change and manage multiple tasks and priorities at one time.
A highly qualified candidate will have / be:
- Experience with application / system testing, development, and troubleshooting.
- Strong meeting facilitation and /or project management skills.
- Process improvement certification, i.e. Lead Six Sigma.
