National Title Underwriters are responsible for evaluating title searches and preparing title commitments as well as other related title documents in accordance with local state and underwriter guidelines and regulations. The candidate should be able to manage a high volume of work and maintain a positive attitude while ensuring accuracy and quality of work.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Responds to customer and client inquiries received via phone, fax, or emails in a timely fashion in a professional, courteous, pleasant and personable manner.
- Reviewing title searches to confirm we have a clear title (or identifying steps that need taken to achieve a clear title).
- Preparing title commitments, Preliminary Closing Disclosures, Closing Protection Letters, and other related title documents per industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies throughout the underwriting process.
- Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to gather necessary documentation and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Working with Clients to ensure they have a great experience by responding to all customer service requests in a timely manner.
- Provide clear and concise explanations of underwriting decisions to borrowers, loan officers, and other relevant parties.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and underwriting standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal, able to establish and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and clients (required).
- Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, practices, and guidelines.
- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively communicate with borrowers and other stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, able to identify and resolve problems effectively.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize workload according to deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and title software systems preferred.
Schedule
- Core business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm
- Monday through Friday
- 40 hours per week
- This is a remote position open to candidates currently residing in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WV, & WY only. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to consider candidates in states not listed for remote work.
- May be able to work in-office at our Virginia Beach, VA, if local.
